A VERY LARGE ICON SHOWING ST. JOHN THE FORERUNNER FROM A DEISIS WITH A SILVER RIZA Russian, 19th century (icon), Russian, late 18th century (riza) Tempera on wood panel. Overlaid with a chased and embossed silver riza. Partially damaged. Cyrillic dedication inscription on the reverse, dated '1865' as well as later inscriptions with the place name 'Svyato-Uspenskiy Knyaginin Zhenskiy Monastyr' in Vladimir. Minimally restored, partially damaged. 53.4 x 41.6 cm.
