A LARGE ICON SHOWING THE RESURRECTION AND THE DESCENT INTO HELL SURROUNDED BY TWELVE MAJOR FEASTS OF THE CHURCH Russian, 2nd half of the 19th century Tempera on wood panel. The background made of silver, covered by a golden lacquer. The border ornately incised. Six selected saints on the borders, the Guardian Angel and St. John the Forerunner among them. Minor paint losses, minimally restored. 39.7 x 33 cm.
