Ismailovich gained recognition as a respected salon portraitist and received numerous commissions from high-ranking officials and members of the imperial family. In addition to his portrait work, he was also active in the restoration and interior painting of museum and private interiors-including the palace of Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich.
