Description
TWO MANDOLINS 'PERRARI'* Naples, 1890-1910 Spruce wood, shell-shaped body made of maple shavings (shell construction), body and sound hole inlaid with tortoiseshell, bone pegs. Lengths 61 and 65 cm. One mandolin has an internal label reading "Perrari Fabbricante di Mandolini Napoli" and a brand stamp reading "Perrari Napoli." In good condition; one mandolin has a mark on the edge. Provenance: Private collection, Hesse. Please note that, due to current CITES regulations, unrestricted trade with tortoiseshell is permitted only within the European Union. Export to third countries is not possible.
