VIOLIN 'JEAN LAURENT MAST' Paris, 19th century. Two-piece spruce top and flamed maple back, dark brown varnish, with bag. 4/4 violin l. 60.4 cm, body l. 36 cm. Marked inside on back and brand stamp ' J. L. Mast a Paris' on Verso. Part dam. and rubbed, rest, ready to play. Provenance: Acquired at Sotheby, London, 1980 (consignor's statement) - private collection, Southern Germany.
