VIOLIN MARKED 'ANTONIUS SUPERIUS,' STAINER MODEL Probably Southern Germany, 19th century One-piece spruce top and maple back, circumferential inlaid border, dark brown varnish. 4/4 violin, length 60, body length 36.2 cm. Violin label: 'Antonius Superius Cremonensis / Alumnus Joseph Guarnerius Anno 1790'. Partially repaired and restored; sealed cracks in the top. Provenance: Private collection, Belgium.
