'HENRI SELMER' 'MODÈLE 26' SAXOPHONE Paris, c. 1928/29 Silver-plated brass, original keywork, richly engraved bell with floral decoration; in original case, with accessories. Height approx. 63 cm. Inscribed on the bell: 'Henri Selmer Paris, H. Selmer, 4 Place Dancourt Paris, No. 9640'. The 'Modèle 26' is one of the early professional saxophones from the Parisian firm Henri Selmer, whose instruments have set the standard in international saxophone manufacturing since the 1920s. Developed as the successor to the first Selmer saxophones, this model is distinguished by improved keywork and balanced response. Silver plating tarnished due to age, with signs of oxidation; key mechanism and functionality not tested. Provenance: Private collection, Hesse.
