NEAPOLITAN MANDOLIN BY 'G. PUGLISI REALE & FIGLI' Catania, Italy, c. 1910 Spruce top, bowl-back body (ribbed construction), bone tuning pegs; in original case. Length 61 cm. Hand-signed inside; label reads 'G. Puglisi Reale & Figli, Catania, Anno 1913, Primo Stabilimento Italiano di Strumenti Musicali a Corda'; branded stamp on the soundboard. Oval soundhole with mother-of-pearl inlay, tortoiseshell pickguard, eight strings in four double courses, inlaid banding around the edge. Part. bumped and damg. Provenance: Private collection, Hesse.
