Description
COLLECTION OF 15 CONDUCTOR'S BATONS* Germany, England, 19th/20th centuries Wood, lacquered black, some with silver mountings, 2 ivory tips. Lengths ranging from 35 to 51 cm. Some are marked, inscribed, or bear dedications. Conductor's batons served not only as working tools for the conductor but were also frequently presented as honorary gifts or mementos on occasions such as anniversaries, concerts, or the founding of musical societies. In particular, examples with precious metal and silver inlays are distinguished by their prestigious character and high-quality craftsmanship. The collection consists of 15 conductor's batons of various designs, some with a sculpted lyre as the end knob. Several items are in their original cases or carrying cases. Partially bumped. CITES marketing certificate is available. Please note that due to the current CITES regulations for ivory objects, unrestricted trade is only permitted within the European Community. An export license is required for shipment to third countries. Please inform yourself about the current import regulations for ivory in your country. It is currently not possible to export ivory to the USA, Canada or England. This item is not legal to sell in the UK.
