MAGNIFICENT ROCOCO WALL MIRROR Probably Italy, presumably Florence or Lucca, circa 1750-1780 Wood, poliment gilding, mirror glass. H. 92, W. 44, D. 5 cm. Tall rectangular gold leaf frame with dynamic, openwork carved floral and leaf decoration. Above the mirror glass is a monumental pediment with a central, sculpturally worked rocaille flanked by elegantly curved acanthus tendrils and volutes. Partially bumped, damaged, restored.
