DEMETRE HARALAMB CHIPARUS 1888 Dorohoi, Romania - 1947 Paris (probably) 'LES AMIS DE TOUJOURS'* Chryselephantine, bronze, dark and light patinated, face and hands carved from ivory, on an onyx base (H. 8 cm). Total height 61, width 65, depth 17 cm. Inscribed 'Chiparus' on the base. Large depiction of a girl with two greyhounds / Borzois. The girl is wearing a stylized Art Deco dress, with two dogs standing at her sides, which she is lovingly stroking. Partial loss of patina and minimal damage. Provenance: Private collection, Belgium. CITES marketing certificate is available.
