ANTOINE LOUIS BARYE 1795 - 1875 'KABYLE AU RETOUR DE LA CHASSE' Bronze, dark brown patina, large-scale figure on an oval plinth. H. approx. 97, w. 87, d. 38 cm. Marked 'Barye' on the plinth, design after Arthur Waagen (1833-1898). Large-format, fully sculpted depiction of a North African Berber hunter, seated on a horse, holding up the hunted prey in one hand and a lamb in the other, surrounded by hunting dogs.
