FRENCH SCULPTOR Active in the 19th/20th century GREAT GODDESS HEBE SITTING ON AN EAGLE Bronze, dark patina, on a hemispherical plinth and marble base (H. 11 cm). Total height 77, W 32, D 27 cm. Inscription on the front: 'Charles', probably Charles Perron (1880-1969). Depiction of the ancient goddess and cupbearer Hebe, daughter of Zeus, sitting in an elegant pose on the back of a flying eagle - the symbolic animal of her divine father. Minor damage and loss of patina.
