Total H. 58.5, W. 39, D. 15 cm; weight approx. 11.88 kg. Monogrammed 'R.S.' on the plinth-likely Rudolf or Richard Scheibe-with the 'Lauchhammer Bildguss' foundry stamp on the side. A fully modeled nude figure of an athlete captured at the moment of peak tension, in dynamic motion immediately before the throw. The casting by the renowned Lauchhammer foundry lends the work added quality and authenticity. A characteristic example of the reception of classical antiquity. Minor rubbing and nicks.
