JOSEF HINTERSEHER 1878 Munich - 1955 ibid 'THE SHELL BEARER' Bronze, dark patina, on round plinth, with glass pane. H. 59, W. 39, D. 26 cm, weight approx. 11.84 kg. Inscribed 'J. Hinterseher' on the plinth. Fully sculpted representation of a male nude, in a slight stride position, holding a disc. Partial loss of patina, rubbed and minimally restored, minimal damage to one foot. Literature: Cf. Schröder: Deutsche Kunstausstellung in Cassel 1913: Aufbruch zur Kunstmetropole Band I.
