FERDINAND LEPCKE 1866 Coburg - 1909 Berlin THE KISS Bronze, dark brown patina, on a round naturalistic plinth (H. 4.5 cm). Total height 59, W. 24, D. 23 cm, weight approx. 13.36 kg. Signed 'Ferd. Lepcke' on the front, foundry mark 'Guss Martin & Piltzing Berlin N.' on the back. Sensual, symbolist depiction of a young couple in a tender kiss. The standing male nude tenderly embraces the reclining female figure. The composition combines classical austerity with emotionally charged movement. Partial loss of patina, repaired and retouched. Provenance: Private collection, North Rhine-Westphalia.
