OTTO HOFFMANN 1885 Berlin - 1915 'CHINESE MAN WITH TRAY'* Chryselephantine, bronze, dark patina, face and hands carved from ivory, on oval plinth and marble base (H. 3 cm). Total H. 30.5, W. 16, D. 12.5 cm, weight approx. 3.55 kg. Signed 'O. Hoffmann' on the plinth. Elegant depiction of a standing Chinese man in traditional dress with a braided pigtail, presenting a tray with a tea service. Partially damaged, loss of patina, rest. Provenance: Private collection, Hesse. CITES marketing certificate is available. Please note that due to the current CITES regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell objects, unrestricted trade is only permitted within the European Community.
