Description
UNKNOWN SCULPTOR Active in the early 20th century ART DECO ALLEGORY OF VICTORY Bronze, gold patina, on oval plinth and marble pedestal (H. 22 cm). Total height 58, width 18, depth 19 cm, weight approx. 8.6 kg. Unsigned, presumably French sculptor. Stylized Art Deco bronze depicting an allegory of victory. The female figure is shown in an upward, dynamic posture, holding a victor's wreath high above her head. The clearly contoured, abstract forms and reduced modeling give the sculpture a modern, exciting effect. Partially intact and loss of patina.
