A PAIR OF FAMILLE ROSE 'FIGURAL' PLANTERS China, late Qing Dynasty Porcelain. H. ca. 16 cm. Comprising two hexagonal-shaped planters, one decorated with daily life scenes of scholars, the other decorated with a scene of the Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea (Baxian guo hai). With traces of age and use, partially abraded. Provenance: From a private collection in North Rhine-Westphalia.
