A GILT-LACQUERED BRONZE FIGURE OF BIXIA YUANJUN China, Ming Dynasty Bronze. H. 27.8 cm. The female deity is portrayed seated, holding a gui tablet in both hands. Her serene and benevolent face is finely cast, framed by an elaborate phoenix crown. She wears a gracefully layered robe. With traces of age and gilding, partially abraded and damaged. Provenance: From an old private collection in North Rhine-Westphalia.
