Description
A BRONZE SEATED FIGURE OF BUDAI China, Ming Dynasty Bronze. H. 18.4 cm. Budai as the manifestation of Maitreya is seated in maharajalilasana with right leg raised, dressed in loose robe revealing the chest and belly, holding praying beads in right hand and big sack in the other. With traces of age and rest of lacquer layer, partially damaged. Provenance: From the collection of Paul Luchtenberg Foundation.
