A FINE BRONZE SCULPTURE OF PHOENIX AND BUDDHIST LION China, Ming Dynasty Bronze. H. 39 cm. The sculpture is finely cast as a phoenix standing on a pine tree, with a branch held in its beak. Below the tree is a Buddhist lion with its mouth open. The phoenix's feathers, the texture of the pine tree, the pine needles, and the lion are all sculpted with exquisite detail. With traces of age, partially abraded.
