A PAINTED ENAMEL 'EUROPEAN SUBJECT' SNUFF BOTTLE China, Qing Dynasty H. 5.9 cm. Copper alloy. The snuff bottle is finely painted, delicately depicting European figures on each side. The base bears a six-character mark "Da Qing Qianlong Nian Zhi". With traces of use and age, partially damaged and stained, and with areas of restoration. Provenance: From a private collection in North Rhine-Westphalia.
