EINE DEHUA-WEINKANNE MIT CHILONG-DARSTELLUNG UND DECKEL

A DEHUA 'CHILONG' WINE EWER AND COVER China, Qing Dynasty Porcelain. H. 16.3 cm. The cylindrical body is applied with a double band around the center, imitating a tied ribbon. The spout, handle, and cover finial are each modeled in the form of a playful chilong. The flat, inset cover is fitted with a finial, and both ewer and cover are covered with an even milk-white glaze. With traces of age and use, partially abraded, with the cover finial restored. Provenance: From a private collection in North Rhine-Westphalia.
