Description
A BRONZE FIGURE OF AMITAYUS China, 19th century Bronze. H. 11 cm. The Amitayus seated in dhayanasana on a double-lotus pedestal, the hands in dhyana mudra, the painted eyes downcast in a serene expression, crowned with a five-point foliate tiara around the high chignon, wearing a celestial scarf draped on her arms and a dhoti, adorned with beaded necklaces and bracelets. Auspicious cloud patterns are finely incised on the reverse of the pedestal. With traces of age, partially abraded. Provenance: From a private collection in North Rhine-Westphalia.
