AN IMPORTANT WOOD CARVED NETSUKE OF A RAT Japan, 19th century Wood. L. 3.8 cm. The netsuke is carved as a rat with inlaid eyes seated and holding an acorn in forepaws, signed on the bottom "Ikkan". With traces of use, partially abraded and damaged. Provenance: From an old private collection in Hesse.
