Description
A THANGKA DEPICTING GREEN TARA Tibet, 18th century Distemper on cloth, mounted. 43x29.5 cm (82x43 cm with mounting). The thangka depicts Green Tara seated in lalitasana on a throne, her right foot resting, the right hand in varada mudra and the left hand in vitarka mudra, surrounded by Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Inscriptions are present on the reverse. With traces of age, slightly damaged. Provenance: From an important private collection in Belgium.
