Description
A WOOD NETSUKE OF TWO SHISHIMAI PERFORMERS Japan, 19th century Wood. H. 2.7 cm. The netsuke is carved as two shishimai performers, one sitting upright in the back, holding an Okame mask at the side of his head. The other performer is hidden within the shishimai costume, with one foot exposed. Signed 'Miwa' with kakihan on the bottom. With traces of age and use.
