A WOOD NETSUKE OF KAN'U Japan, 19th century Wood/Bone/Coral. H. 4.8 cm. The netsuke is carved as the Chinese general Guan Yu on horseback, holding his naginata in one hand and the reins in the other. The horse's back is inlaid with bone and coral decorations. With traces of age and use.
