Description
A WOOD NETSUKE OF A DRAGON IN A MIKAN (TANGERINE) Japan, 19th century Wood. H. 4.1 cm. The netsuke is finely carved, depicting a dragon winding through and around stippled mikan, with the leafy stem forming the himotoshi. The eye is inlaid. With traces of age and use. Literature: This netsuke can be compared to Lot 34, which was sold at Bonhams in the auction held in November 2023.
