AN IVORY NETSUKE OF A RECUMBENT STALLION Japan, 18th/19th century Ivory. L. 4.7 cm. The netsuke is carved as a stallion lying peacefully on the ground, its head turned back toward its body. With traces of age and use, partially cracked.
