Description
AN IVORY NETSUKE OF A RECUMBENT BOAR Japan, 19th century Ivory. L. 3.8 cm. The netsuke depicts a boar seated with its limbs tightly tucked underneath. The head with inlaid pupils, an upturned snout, and an open mouth showing long, sharp incisors. A small tuft of hair is carved on the top, the ears set to the side. With traces of age and use, partially cracked. CITES marketing certificate is available. Please note that due to the current CITES regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell objects, unrestricted trade is only permitted within the European Community. An export license is required for shipment to third countries. Please inform yourself about the current import regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell in your country. It is currently not possible to export ivory to the USA, Canada or England. This item is not legal to sell in the UK.
