A STAG-ANTLER NETSUKE OF A GRAZING HORSE Japan, around 1800 Stag-antler. L. 6.8 cm. The netsuke is carved as a horse standing balanced on closely set hooves, its head lowered to graze, with partial fur patterns on its back and its tail flicked to one side. With traces of use and age, partially abraded.
