Description
A LARGE BRONZE OKIMONO OF AN ELEPHANT Japan, 19th/20th century Bronze. H. 37 cm. The okimono is modeled as an elephant, one foot resting on a tiger with inlaid eyes, while another similarly inlaid tiger climbs onto its back. Signed "Tsunemitsu" on the underside. With traces of age, the elephant's two tusks missing.
