Description
AN IVORY CARVED NETSUKE OF A TEMPLE BELL WITH TWO MONKS Japan, 19th century Ivory. L. 4.6 cm. The netsuke is carved as a temple bell lying on its side, with the mouth facing outward. Two monks are sitting on either side covering their ears, one of them holding the rope attached to the bell. Signed 'Shounsai' on the bottom. With traces of age and use, partially cracked. CITES marketing certificate is available. Please note that due to the current CITES regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell objects, unrestricted trade is only permitted within the European Community. An export license is required for shipment to third countries. Please inform yourself about the current import regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell in your country.
