A GROUP OF FIVE MARUGATA-FORM TSUBA (SWORD GUARDS) Japan, 18th/19th century Bronze/Iron. H. 6.3-8 cm. Including a bronze tsuba with a woven pattern, an iron tsuba with a tree-grain pattern, an iron tsuba with a gold-inlay pattern on the edge, and two small iron tsuba with openwork floral patterns. With traces of age, partially abraded. Provenance: From an old private collection in North Rhine-Westphalia.
