A FINE WOOD NETSUKE OF A SHOJO Japan, 19th century Wood. H. 3 cm. The netsuke is carved as a shojo seated in a large sage cup on the waves, holding a ladle in both hands. It is signed "Ryusei" with a kao on the back of the cup. With traces of use and age. Provenance: From an old private collection in North Rhine-Westphalia.
