A FINE IVORY CARVED OKIMONO OF A SAMURAI ON HORSEBACK Japan, 19th century Ivory. H. 7.6 cm. The okimono is carved as a samurai in a battle stance on horseback, pressing down on two struggling figures beneath the horse while wielding a long staff and thrusting downward. With traces of use and age, partially cracked and damaged. CITES marketing certificate is available. Please note that due to the current CITES regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell objects, unrestricted trade is only permitted within the European Community. An export license is required for shipment to third countries. Please inform yourself about the current import regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell in your country.
