Description
A FINE IVORY CARVED NETSUKE OF A KAN'U Japan, 19th century Ivory. H. 5.3 cm. The netsuke is carved as a fierce-looking Kan'u with his mouth open. He is standing, with his upper body turned to the right, holding a long-handled sword in his right hand and resting his left hand on his waist. Signed 'Gyokuzan' on the back. With traces of age and use. CITES marketing certificate is available. Please note that due to the current CITES regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell objects, unrestricted trade is only permitted within the European Community. An export license is required for shipment to third countries. Please inform yourself about the current import regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell in your country. It is currently not possible to export ivory to the USA, Canada or England. This item is not legal to sell in the UK.
