Description
A FINE IVORY CARVED NETSUKE OF A MONKEY Japan, late 18th century Ivory. H. 2.5 cm. The netsuke is finely carved as a seated monkey with inlaid eyes, one hand holding a persimmon and the other grasping a persimmon branch. It is signed 'Ranichi' within an oblong reserve on the bottom. With traces of age and use, slightly damaged. CITES marketing certificate is available. Please note that due to the current CITES regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell objects, unrestricted trade is only permitted within the European Community. An export license is required for shipment to third countries. Please inform yourself about the current import regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell in your country. It is currently not possible to export ivory to the USA, Canada or England. This item is not legal to sell in the UK.
