Accompanied by an expert opinion by Dr Walter Bernt (Munich) dated 16 October 1950, in which Bernt classifies the painting as "an unquestionably authentic and characteristic work by the Haarlem landscape painter Guillam Dubois (1610-1680), fully signed in the lower centre and dated 1647".
