PROBABLY FOLLWER OF BARTHOLOMAEUS SPRANGER 1546 Antwerp - 1611 Prague THE HOLY FAMILY WITH THE INFANT JOHN AND A MUSICAL ANGEL Pen and brown ink, grey wash on laid paper with watermark (coat of arms of Amsterdam, 2nd half of the 17th century). Sheet size: 22.4 x 32.9, frame size: 44 x 54 cm). Verso: Inscription on the passe-partout by a later hand: 'Diana Scaltori (family of sculptors) circle. Margins slightly stained, lower margin with minimal restoration, upper right corner and centre slightly stained. Framed behind glass. In reference to the angel playing music, see the copperplate engraving "The Holy Family with Angels Playing Music" by Jacob F.
