STRIDING STAG Brienz, Switzerland, late 19th century. Wood, finely carved and stained. H. 57, W. 48, D. 30 cm. A high-quality, naturalistic depiction of a standing twelve-point stag in the style of the Brienz school of woodcarving, set on a rectangular base modeled as a forest floor. Minor rubbing and nicks; damage to the antlers (which are detachable).
