RELIEF: MINIATURE CRUCIFIXION Probably France, 17th century Palm wood, finely carved in relief and framed. H. 14.5 cm, W. 10 cm, D. 3.5 cm, Weight approx. 180 g. Finely crafted miniature relief depicting the Crucifixion of Christ. In the center, Christ on the cross, flanked by accompanying figures, in a dense composition and with detailed rendering of the drapery. Religious carving, presumably from the Île-de-France region. Minor bumped.
