Description
GERMAN SCULPTOR Active in the 19th century CRUCIFIX* 1852 Ivory, sculpted, with wooden cross (H. 65 cm). Figure height 29.5 cm, weight 0.72 kg. Signed 'M. Hagen' on the side and dated '1852'. Sculpturally carved body of Christ in ivory, in the three-nail type, girded loincloth, arms raised high. Above the body is the inscription 'INRI'. Arms damaged, partly restored and repaired. CITES marketing certificate is available. Please note that due to the current CITES regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell objects, unrestricted trade is only permitted within the European Community. An export license is required for shipment to third countries. Please inform yourself about the current import regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell in your country. It is currently not possible to export ivory to the USA, Canada or England. This item is not legal to sell in the UK.
