SAINT SEBASTIAN Franconian, around 1600 Limewood, plastically carved, flattened on the back, original setting, partly gilded. H. 75, w. 20, d. 8 cm, weight 3,22 kg. Luchtenberg collection inventory number 'B/m 21' on verso. Sculptural representation of the martyr Sebastian, standing at a tree trunk, tied to branch stumps and dressed only with a loincloth. Bumped and damaged, heavy losses to the frame, tension crack on the reverse. Provenance: Luchtenberg Foundation.
