ERNST TELL Viennese sculptor Active around 1900 'THE WATER CARRIER' Alabaster, fully sculpted, on a marble base (H. 6.5). H. 61, W. 32, D. 17 cm, weight approx. 19.12 kg. Marked 'E. Tell' on the back and 'Goldscheider' stamp on the base. Three-dimensional representation of a water carrier holding a jug, designed by Ernst Tell and produced in Vienna for the renowned Goldscheider manufactory. Some parts are bumped and rubbed.
