A RARE ICON OF PENTECOST Russian, probably Syzran, Feodor Arkhipovich Bochkarev, late 19th century Tempera on wood panel with kovcheg, with gilded haloes and background. Depicting the Mother of God enthroned amidst the Apostles and saints, with tongues of fire descending from above. Edges slightly consolidated. 35.5 x 31 cm.
