A RARE ICON SHOWING THE PRAISE OF THE MOTHER OF GOD (THE PROPHETS FORETOLD YOU) Russian, early 19th century Tempera on wood panel with kovcheg. The haloes made of silver, covered by a golden lacquer. Three selected saints on the borders: Guardian Angel, Sts. Theodosiya and John Ogorodnik. The edges minimally chipped. 34.8 x 30.8 cm.
