A VERY RARE AND VERY FINE ICON SHOWING 'THE EARTH IS THE LORD'S AND ITS FULLNESS' Russian, Moscow or Solvychegodsk, Stroganov School, 1st third 17th century Tempera on wood panel with kovcheg. Finely executed in great detail on a gold ground. The icon depicting the creation of Adam and Eve, the Crucifixion of Christ, the three Marys at the empty tomb and the harrowing of hell. Inserted into another panel in the 19th century (vrezka), vertical crack, minimally restored, the upper border added. 19.8 x 15.5 cm.
